Hello!
I'm Rebecca, though I usually prefer Becky or Bex once we really get to know each other. Firstly, thank you for stopping by my page. It really means a lot that you've got this far and are interested in finding out a bit about me. Secondly, let me tell you a little about why I do what I do. Since I was tiny I've used creativity as an outlet for everything. When I'm happy, sad, stressed, confused, bored and even tired, I get the desire to do something creative and occasionally everything all at once (which usually leads to quite a mess). Photography was the final A Level I chose. The other three being rather academic, I knew I would go stir crazy without a bit of light relief in the mix. Within two months, I gave up on my dream of being a hotel manager (one of the many unrealistic goals I have had over the years) and wanted to become a photographer. Student loans meant I could follow that dream to university and a lovely new seaside town. I loved student life, although I feel I made a 'bad' student. Instead of going out every night, I strengthened friendships over home cooking and movie nights, beach trips and now and again actually studying. I also loved my course for teaching me life skills alongside photo and techno tricks. After graduating and the exciting experience of debuting as a Director of Photography for a feature film (Leave Now) in 2014, I worked for a couple of photographic companies but I felt that it wasn't entirely for me. These many creative outlets I like to explore fuel my happiness and I find I don't have enough time for them whilst working full time for someone else. So I decided to try something new. I'm now a Post Lady and walk an average of 8 miles a day, which gives me head space to think about photography and leaves my afternoons free to photograph. Finally, and apologies for all the waffling, I always love to hear feedback and new ideas. If there is something you think I am missing out on, something you think doesn't work or even if there is something you think really suits my skills, please let me know via the Contact page. I reply to every message I get personally and I can't wait to say hi! The best of wishes, Bex Photographer of many things East Sussex |
